Emergency Response Kit

Each location within the Princeton University Library system has an EMERGENCY RESPONSE KIT. These kits contain a variety of materials and equipment for staff at the local library to respond immediately to a minor overhead water leak, if the conditions are such that it is safe and favorable to do so. Do not attempt immediate response to a leak of major proportions. In either case, Preservation Office staff should continue to be notified of any leak so that we may provide assistance and evaluation of the situation.

The contents of the kit are listed below. They are housed within a larger container (on wheels) topped by two box fans fastened with bungee cords. The dimensions of the container and fans are: 35.5" H x 21.5" W x 36" L.

duct tape for sheeting placement*
water diverters (2 - large and small)
extra straps for diverters
water hose for diverter
buckets (2) with lids
absorbent wipes*
absorbent mat pads*
flashlight
box of PVC (vinyl) gloves*
plastic deli-wrap for shipping interleaving*
trash bags (ask local custodian for replacements,)
