Digital Resources Advisory Group
The Digital Resources Advisory Group (DiRAG) identifies and reviews new electronic products such as databases, electronic journals, text collections, e-books, newspapers, music scores, and audio, video and image collections. DiRAG sets up trials for new products and evaluates them for purchase or subscription. DiRAG works with vendors and publishers to improve interface and content, and invites them to campus to demonstrate new products. The group reviews licensing issues and pricing models, shares use statistics, and discusses issues related to digital resources such as copyright. DiRAG works with selectors on funding and assists with funding when the resource is interdisciplinary, or of particular interest to undergraduate students.
Database Management Group (DMG)
DiRAG monitors how digital resources are displayed and accessed, evaluates the effectiveness of this access and recommend ways to improve it. The Database Management Group (DMG) oversees this aspect and maintains the database of Articles and Databases content. DMG works with selectors to create database descriptions and to identify subject pages and rankings for each resource. Email the Database Management Group at dmg@princeton.edu
Direct from DiRAG
DiRAG sponsors Direct from DiRAG presentations four times each year. These highlight new resources, particularly those which may be of interest to all library staff. E-mail DiRAG with suggestions for presentations or session themes.
Questions for DiRAG or suggestions concerning any aspect of electronic resources may be e-mailed to the Digital Resources Advisory Group at dirag@princeton.edu.
