Creating the authority record

Create an authority record for each new heading as instructed (see OCLC inputting). When the record is complete, print it out and put it in the appropriate basket on the NACO shelf, depending on whether it must be reviewed (See Review policy).

If you have a question about the heading, you may put the record and the item in hand on the NACO shelf, or consult with a member of the Authorities Team. Be sure that the heading on your catalog record matches the form sent to NACO.
