Print reference sourcesWhen citing standard reference works, abbreviate the title, and give the year of publication or the edition statement if the source is published in successive editions. In an alphabetically arranged source, it is generally not necessary to give exact volume or page numbers consulted. Do transcribe the heading under which the sought information was found, exactly as given in the source. In the case of a personal name, it is especially important to transcribe the entry element of the heading (e.g. surname first). Example
