Serials With Accompanying Material
For specific types of accompanying material, follow the guidelines outlined in the appropriate section to the left.

In many cases these practices will mean that a single issue of a serial will have to be bound and added separately.
  • Do so even if it means breaking up a volume.
  • Add other issues of the volume as appropriate, using (inc.) to indicate that an issue from the middle of the volume has been added separately.
  • The accompanying material itself is not noted in the holdings or circulation record.
Example:
    1986
    1987 (inc.)
Sept. 1987 [issue with accompanying transparencies]

    no. 1-4
    no. 5-8
no. 9 [issue with computer disk]
    no. 10
