Oversize books at (UES)

THIS POLICY WAS DISCONTINUED IN JUNE 2010.

The oversize shelving at (UES) includes books that measure 33 cm. or more. Thus when they receive books from Catalog Division measuring between 30-32 cm. they modify the catalog record and the book so that it can be shelved in their regular ranges. They remove the Oversize and the q from the call number in the holdings record, and they "white-out" the q on the call number label on the book itself. They make no change to the call number written on the t.p. verso.

When such books are to be transferred to any other library location, they agree to restore the holdings record to its original state and to replace the q on the call number label before the books leave (UES).
