Classification
Languages of the Former Soviet republics (P Schedules)
In 1993, the class tables for many of the languages of the former Soviet Union changed. Originally, the numbers for the Northwestern Kipchak group of languages:
Balkar, Bashkir, Crimean- Tatar, Karachay-Balkar, Karaim, Karakalpak, Kazakh, Kirghiz, Kumyk, Nogai and Tatar
were assigned a single cutter number under PL65. Each of these languages now has a single number.
- All authors writing in these languages will be assigned new cutter numbers whether or not they have been established previously.
