The same rules apply as those for serial uniform title qualifiers and corporate bodies.

R.S.F.S.R. will automatically change to Russia except when the city has also changed its name.

IUridicheskie nauki (Moscow, R.S.F.S.R.)

changes to:
IUridicheskie nauki (Moscow, Russia)

but

Poeziia (Leningrad, R.S.F.S.R.)

which ceased publication in 1984, does not change.
