Transliteration of "Hard Signs" in Pre-Revolutionary Russian

In pre-revolutionary Russian, ignore the final (tverdyi znak) when transliterating.

Some of the post-revolutionary spelling reforms of the Slavic languages dealt with hard signs. For a time, was replaced by ' (apostrophe), and this still occurs in some emigre publications.
