Guidelines for bibliographic information in brief records for Reserve The material covered includes photocopies, course packets, professor's copies, handouts and other uncataloged library material. The following standards should be followed for each category of material: NOTE: If there is a matching bibliographic record in Voyager, add a holdings record for the reserve copy according to Adding Holdings and Item records to Voyager for monographs and booksets procedure or Adding Holdings and Item records to Voyager for serials procedure. Make a note in the item record note field that this is a personal copy. 1. Xerox of Journal article:

In Item record 5. Call numbers for reserve items should follow this pattern: Call numbers should have a capital X--space--the first three letters of the course (in caps)--space--the number of the course--space--the first three letters of the author's name if present, otherwise the first three letters of the title (in caps). Use the first 3 letter course designation from the Princeton University Course Offerings. If the three last letters in a call number conflict add a number directly after the letters to differentiate between titles. Examples: |
