records are saved into a work file and paperwork is delivered to Order
Division to create the order.

staff
Distributed Ordering - SG
1. Monographs
SG staff search monographic titles in Voyager and RLIN. If copy is
available, records are imported and pending orders created with the
vendor "SG Monograph orders" (code SGORDERS). Order Division
staff assign appropriate vendors, update the order as necessary and
approve it.
Procedure for finishing order
2. Maps
Plans are underway to process some map orders as above. However, the
current procedure calls for SG staff to create or import bibliographic
records into a work file on TSSERVER2. A 500 field is added to the bibliographic
record with acquisitions information such as vendor, item number, price,
etc. Order Division staff import the work records into Voyager, create
an order, and strip out the extra 500 field from the bibliographic record.
In some cases it may be appropriate to create multiple line purchase
orders.
