Online Journal Access Pricing
There is an increased trend by publishers to begin charging for electronic journals which had been "free with print".
Order Division policy is to approve these costs provided that the online cost is not more than 15% above the price of the print subscription, or above $100, whichever is greater. If the price exceeds this guideline, selectors will be contacted for a decision.
Furthermore, we have instructed our vendors to follow these guidelines automatically. They will assume that we agree to pay for the online coverage within these limits and will only contact us for larger price increases. This lessens the risk of temporarily losing online access to these titles.
