Processing Princeton University Press titles
Princeton University Press books are put on shelves in the Approval room for review by selectors, and locations are assigned by selectors. After they have been reviewed they are delivered to Cataloging Unit 4. There they are searched in Voyager and cataloged, regardless of the availability of copy. The item record is created with a note "PUP gift." This is the only method used to track acquisition. When there are two copies of a book without any flags or notes specifying location, both copies are cataloged for location F, or in another Firestone location dictated by location adjustment for LC class number. An exception to this is Music books. For titles classed in M to MT the first copy is cataloged for SV and the second for MUS. A single copy of a title with no location flagged is cataloged for F. Volumes of ongoing sets are added to the exisiting set record.
