RLIN21 Command line Search

Searching RLIN21 using the Command line search is very similar to searching RLIN for Windows, except it uses fewer keystrokes! See the comparison below to see the ways in which they differ.

1. You do not need to use the FINd command. Simply type in the index and the search terms. [Sample]

2. Truncation, like many other web-based systems, including Voyager, is indicated by a question mark instead of the pound (number) sign. [Sample]

3. Chaining commands uses a semicolon rather than the slash.[Sample]

4. Use "limit" instead of the ALSo command. Use "limit" also to narrow your results to a specific format (takes the place of SELect FILe , since all format files have been joined in one large file. [Sample]

More information on searching is available in RLG's RLIN21 Search tutorial (RLG document - PDF file)

There are extensive help files in the RLIN21 interface. Please click on the help menu and look around!
