Periodical Check in on Voyager
Training Document
Tips and Hints:
- The Quick Check in button works great when checking in multiple issues;
however, you will have to make an extra effort to fix the prediction
from the Maintenance button; then click on the Predictive Component
Pattern Tab; select the correct date from the calendar; click on the
Change Date button and click on Yes if you want to change the dates
for the whole pattern; click on No if you only want to change the date
for a particular issue in the queue.
- Predictions are REALLY important in Voyager and each issue in the
queue has one! If predictions are not set correctly, items will not
show up on the Problems List appropriately and we will NOT
be able to do effective problem-solving using the Problems List.
- Navigate around Serials Check In by using the icons on the Left Task
Bar; this release of Voyager saves previous searches and you can very
easily end up looking at a title in Serials History when you really
wanted to be looking at a different title in Serials Check In.
- Again, with this release of Voyager it is very easy to end up in an
unexpected place in Acquisitions without being sure how you got there.
Be VERY sure that you are where you want to be before editing records—for
example, it is VERY easy to end up trying to attach a second component
to a record because you have an old search in the Subscription Maintenance
window and thought you were attaching a component to a new title.
