Series Checks in Voyager AcquisitionsSearching to see if we have a series, serial or bookset on standing order involves both the Cataloging and Acquisitions modules. You must have both modules open and logged on using the same Operator ID. Serial VolumeLets start with the simplest case, a search for a serial volume. Lets say that the title in question is the 1999-2000 annual report of the National Library of Wales. In Cataloging, do a Journal title search on Annual report. The Journal title matches on title fields 245 and 246, but not on series titles in the 400s and 800s. Since there are lots of annual reports in the system, you could also try an author headings search on National Library of Wales. Once you have the matching bib record, bring up the holdings record to see if the volume in question has been added. If the volume in question has been added, you would treat it as a "Have" and note down the Bib ID # and the location. In this case, however, the last volume added was 1998-99. We need to check for a standing order. Click on Record menu>View line items in Acquisitions. If there is one line item attached, it will pop up as a tabbed Detail Line Item display in Acquisitions. This display has a link to the purchase order. [Series Checks in Voyager] [Serial Volume continued] [Bookset etc.] [Monographic Series] [Monographic Series cont.] |
