Serial Volume (continued)A serial single order or a bookset single volume order will have the order type Firm order. Receipt status will be seen from the color of the line and the purchase order status in the title bar. Check the vendor instructions for the issue(s) ordered. A standing order will have the order type Continuation. To check for receipt status, you have to go to the serials history display. In this case we are looking at a continuation order, so we will need to look at the Serials History display. Click on the Check-in tab on the list bar. Then, click on the Serials history icon. Do a Check-in title search. If there is a match, double-click the line to bring up the serials receipt, claim and problem history. If there is not a match, try the Other search option, which allows you to do any type of bibliographic search; or, try an issn search. If you still cannot bring up a record, there is no component attached to the order, meaning we have not received any volumes against the order. In this case, we have not received any volumes on Voyager, so we do not yet have the volume in question. Lets try another search. Go back into Cataloging and do a journal title search on Comparative Social Research. Lets say that you have an order request in hand for vol.19. Once weve brought up the record, click on the Get holdings icon. Volume 19 is not received. Go to the Record menu>View line items in Acquisitions and bring up the Order tab. We can see that this is a continuation order. Click on the ellipsis in the Order Number field to bring up the purchase order. To view receipts, go to the Check-in tab, click on the Serials History icon, and search on Comparative Social Research. Here we can see that volume 19 has been received (but not yet added to the catalog record.)
