Connect from Off Campus

Accessing Library resources from off campus or remote locations
*Most of the Library's electronic resources are available to users from anywhere off campus and from any location, including foreign countries.  OIT's VPN (Virtual Private Network) service is the recommended method for remote access.

Help with remote access:
VPN:  helpdesk@princeton.edu or call 609-258-4357 (8-help)
Library EZProxy Service(s): lsupport@princeton.edu

If you are having problems with a specific resource please include the URL you are trying to access in your message.

MAC users: Note: If you are able to VPN, but are unable to access Library Resources, do the following:

  • In System Preferences, choose Network
  • Highlight VPN connection
  • Click Advanced
  • Under Options, check "Send all traffic over VPN connection"
  • Under TCP/IP, set Configure IPv6 to Off (or, in Lion, choose "Link-local only" from the pull-down)

*Resources listed as "Library Web Computer" are available only from designated Library
Web Computer workstations physically located within the Library premises.
