Requests

Princeton borrowers may use the following online forms to request library materials. Holders of new ID cards may need to get their barcode activated before being able to use some online request services.  To activate your barcode, please visit any library circulation desk.

  • Interlibrary Loan
    Request photocopies and short-term loans of materials not available at Princeton.
  • Article Express
    Obtain article-length copies from journals, books and other texts whether held at Princeton or at other institutions. (Princeton faculty only).
  • Borrow Direct
    Borrow books or other media not owned by Princeton, or checked out to other users. Receive material usually within four working days.
  • Annex Requests
    Place a request for a book from an Annex library.
  • In Process
    Place a request for materials that have been received by the Library but not yet processed.
  • On Order Request
    Receive notification when a title "on order" is available in the library.
  • Trace Requests
    Request that circulation staff search for a book or journal that is not on the shelf, but not listed as charged out or missing in the Main Catalog.
  • Renew Materials Online
    Renew Firestone Library books online. Academic year loan (due June 15), in process, reserve and recall books may not be renewed.
  • Harold P. Furth (PPL) Book Request
    Request a book from the Harold P. Furth Plasma Physics Library.
  • Place a Recall
    Recall an item that is charged out. You may recall items directly from the Main Catalog.
  • Recommend purchases/subscriptions
    Recommend material that you think the Library should purchase. If you wish to recommend more than one title, please submit each one on a separate form.
