About carrels in Firestone Library

Study carrels are available within Firestone for seniors in the history department. A carrel provides a quiet place to work and a safe place to store your books. To apply for a carrel, complete the application form at
http://libweb5.princeton.edu/carrels/application.aspx.

Most carrels accommodate two people. When you fill out your application, it is important to list the person(s) with whom you would like to share the carrel. In order to be placed with a specific carrel mate, both you and your carrel mate must name each other in your applications. If you list someone as your carrel mate on your application, and that person does not list you on their application, you will not be placed together. If you do not list a specific carrel mate, it is assumed that you will share a carrel with whomever is assigned. You will be notified by email when your carrel is assigned. It is very important that you come to the Access Office to sign the paperwork and pick up either your carrel combination or key by the date specified in the notification. Carrels not signed for by the date specified will be reassigned, and carrels that are manifestly not being used may also be reassigned.
