Performance Appraisal Program for Library Support Staff

Timeline for 2006/2007

March 15, 2006- Performance period begins.

March 15 - end of April, 2006 - Performance planning sessions take place between supervisors and individual support staff members. Discussion topics include: review of the process and the schedule, review of the standards of the position, review of the core values, setting objectives for the year.

May, 2006-January, 2007 - Regular feedback sessions between supervisor and staff.

June 15, 2006- Suggested date for first interim performance appraisals. Discussion topics include: review of the process and the schedule, review of the standards of the position, discussion of how work standards are being met, discussion of the status of development or action plans.

September 15, 2006- Suggested date for second interim performance appraisals. Discussion topics include: review of the process and the schedule, review of the standards of the position, discussion of how work standards are being met, discussion of the status of development or action plans.

December 15, 2006- Suggested date for third interim performance appraisals. Discussion topics include: review of the process and the schedule, review of the standards of the position, discussion of how work standards are being met, discussion of the status of development or action plans.

February 1, 2007 - Supervisors and staff begin working on performance appraisals.

March 9, 2007 - Performance period ends for 2005/06. Performance period begins for 2006/07.

March 9, 2007 - Preliminary performance appraisals given to staff.

March 12-March 26, 2007- Performance appraisal interviews take place. Discussion topics include: progress in attaining the year's objectives, review of how the core values were met, review of how the work standards were met, development plans, action plans, possible reviews.

June 30 , 2007 - Completed and signed performance appraisals due to Library Human Resources Ofice.
