We are pleased to announce the first public version of the Princeton University Library Map Search website. This site allows users to search for scanned maps and geospatial data in our collection using traditional keywords as well as with location-based browsing.

Phelps, Humphrey, 1847, World at one view.

Datasets can be downloaded and images viewed directly from the search results. This is an early iteration and we will be continually adding new components. A few examples of features still in the pipeline: bookmarkable searches, a more attractive details page, an integrated keyword and location search box, and visualization of non-image datasets in the browser. In addition, we are actively collaborating with developers at other academic libraries to enhance our spatial discovery techniques.
