Video Library - New Location

Posted: Tuesday, 4 August 2015 - 9:09am

The Video Library, formerly known as the Humanities Resource Center (HRC), will be moved from its current location at East Pyne to a temporary location in Firestone Library.  This move is scheduled for August 5th (Wednesday).

A former classroom on B floor (B-2J and B-3J) will be the new home for the public workstations for film digitization, digitization support and film reserve/streaming services, and the office of the unit head (Barbara McLaughlin).  The new location will also have several video viewing stations for patrons.  Any DVD or VHS with non U.S region codes can be viewed using the region-free players at the Video Library. More information about the collections and services of the Video Library can be found on the website.

With this move, the DVD titles which were not used for the last 5 years will be sent to ReCAP. The rest will be transferred to the Firestone Circulation Desk and be circulated at the desk.

The Firestone DVD collection can be checked out any time when the library is open, including weekends and many holidays.

The ReCAP DVD collection will be delivered to any branch libraries. Patrons can make the ReCAP Delivery Request online through the library catalog, 24/7. The record shows that 60% of the ReCAP delivery requests were filled in the same day.

We will ensure that all the services the Video library is currently providing will be continued at the new location without any interruption. Please feel free to contact Peter Bae(sbae@princeton.edu) , if there are any questions regarding the move.
