Princeton University Library is pleased to announce the final recipients of the 2023-24 Friends of Princeton University Library Research Grants. The grant program will support visits from 36 researchers to Princeton in the coming year. The awardees and their projects are listed below. Print or digital? Glance at any given college classroom and it wouldn’t be uncommon to see laptops littering the desks of students. Regardless of the field, digital materials have become increasingly pervasive in academia, providing students and researchers with (generally) easy access to recent publications, historic texts, and companion materials.

For Andi Grene, an English concentrator and member of Princeton University’s Class of 2024, print is still king.

Librarian Emily Wild reflects on the passage of “Emily Law”

In recognition of Earth Month, Princeton University Library puts the spotlight on Chemistry, Geosciences, and Environmental Studies Librarian, Emily Wild. Prior to Princeton, Wild spent 22 years as a hydrologist and librarian (physical scientist) at the U.S. Geological Survey. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Hartwick College and a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island.

What’s green at Princeton University Library?

In 2019, Princeton University Library (PUL) completed a 10-year series of renovations of its Harvey S. Firestone Library. Firestone Library, which is one of nine locations within PUL, opened in 1948 as the first large American university library constructed after World War II. Guided by 11 principles, the goal of the Firestone renovation was to redefine, rethink, and revitalize its role as a hub of campus life.

Searchable database aggregating content from a wide array of information sources from and about Russia, the CIS, and the Baltic states. Includes full text of central and regional newspapers and journals, full text legal databases, and a variety of business and statistical resources and dictionaries. Search interface available in English or Russian; queries and results may be in Cyrillic or transliterated Roman script.
