Loan Periods/Fines for Firestone Reserves

All Princeton University faculty, staff and students, their spouses, partners and dependents are eligible to borrow reserve material. Users must present a University ID card, with current year validation, in order to borrow items. Visitors, access patrons, and guest borrowers may not borrow reserve material. The following loan periods pertain to the Firestone Library Reserve collections. 

For Undergraduate Courses:

Required readings (3-hour loan) Overnight loans begin three hours before the Circulation Desk closes and are due at opening the following day. Request at the desk by call number. 

Optional readings (24-hour loan) Due before the Circulation Desk closes the following day. Request at the desk by call number. 

For Graduate Courses:

Graduate Study Room reserve books (non-circulating) To be used in the graduate study room.

Fines for Overdue Firestone Reserve Items

$1/hour, or portion thereof; max. $15/item
Optional readings/1 Day

$6/hour, or portion thereof; no maximum fine
iPads
$10/day, or portion thereof; no maximum fine

 

Non-returned items are subject to replacement and lost item processing fees

iPads not returned in 10 days will be considered lost and a bill for replacement plus standard processing fees will be issued. The borrower is responsible for any loss of or damage to the device while it is in his/her possession.
