Materials Science

Core Resources

Materials Research Society (MRS) Online Proceedings Library 1998+

The online library contains the full text of peer reviewed papers presented at MRS Spring and Fall meetings which report on fundamental and emerging research areas in materials science. Proceedings papers can be sorted by meeting or topic, and are fully searchable. 1998+

CRCnetBase

Online books published by CRC Press. Princeton subscribes to select modules (Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Clean Tech, Economics, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Material Science, Math, Physics).

Material ConneXion

Includes over 4,500 materials and processes. The database allows you to discover the latest and most exciting materials originating from a large spectrum of industries, typically unnoticed or difficult to reach by the design community. All the materials are juried into the database by a panel of material specialists and knowledgeable professionals. Covers current industrial manufacturing products, processes, and processed raw materials. Historical products or companies are not covered. As subscribers to Material Connexion, all Princeton affiliates have unlimited access to the Material Library in New York City.

ASM Alloy Phase Diagrams Center

Provides access to more than 30,000 binary and ternary phase diagrams and associated phase data.

Phase Equilibria Diagrams for Ceramic Systems

High-quality phase diagram data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and The American Ceramic Society (ACerS). Includes evaluated phase diagrams of ceramic systems specifically addressing oxides, salts, carbides, nitrides, boride, compound semiconductors and chalcogenides. New diagrams (labeled as volume 15) include oxide as well as non-oxide systems such as chalcogenides and pnictides, phosphates, salt systems, and mixed systems of these various ceramic materials classes.

ICSD Web 1913+

Comprehensive database of inorganic crystal structures. Contains records for elements, and binary, ternary, quaternary and quintenary compounds. Over 70% have been assigned a structure type, and the remainder are prototypes. Detailed searching forms for chemistry, symmetry, structure type, etc. are available, as well as analysis of large, complex data sets. 1913+

MatWeb

Searchable database of material properties including data sheets of thermoplastic and thermoset polymers such as ABS, nylon, polycarbonate, polyester, polyethylene and polypropylene; metals such as aluminum, cobalt, copper, lead, magnesium, nickel, steel, superalloys, titanium and zinc alloys; ceramics, plus semiconductors, fibers, and other engineering materials.
