Access and Film Renewal

Video Library

Video Collection Access

The focus of the Video Library is to provide films for classroom instruction.  The Video Library serves the teaching, research and scholarly activities of the University faculty, students, and staff. Access and borrowing privileges are provided to individuals who hold a valid Princeton University identification card (TigerCard).

Visitors and patrons holding Guest ID cards are not eligible to borrow DVDs, or VHS tapes.

Films that are on reserve for a class will be held at the Video Library beginning the first day of the semester through the last day of finals and may only be checked out by the instructor of the class. Films on reserve may be viewed by any student or faculty member in the Video Library.  Films that are not on reserve may be checked out for 14 days.  Borrowers are responsible for the replacement costs of lost or damaged items.

Renewals

As long as a film is not on reserve it may be renewed. You may renew a film twice from your library account page. After the two renewals have been used the item will need to be brought to the Firestone Circulation desk to be manually charged out to you again.   Borrowers are responsible for renewing items they have checked out, on or before the due date, to avoid overdue fines.  Contact the Circulation staff in Firestone Library at (609) 258-3202 or fstcirc@princeton.edu if you have questions about the renewal process.
