Over the weekend, history graduate students began moving into the new history graduate study at A-8B (Firestone Library) on A floor, adjacent to a new history reference reading room at A-7B.

The new graduate study features 80 carrels for history and history of science grad students, and the reading room has a long table for readers who need to consult the history and history of science reference collections, current journals, and history graduate reserve reading. Historians of Firestone Library itself may know that the history graduate study was on A floor from the late 1940s through 1970, but has been on C floor since the 1971 expansion of B and C floors. As the renovation progresses, the new location will be close to history collections, microforms services, and other resources heavily used by history graduate students.
