Oct. 3, 2014 Beginning in October 2014, Princeton students, faculty and staff will have on-site borrowing privileges at the following BorrowDirect Plus institutions: Brown University, University of Chicago, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. In addition, students faculty and staff from those same institutions will have on-site borrowing privileges when they visit our library.Users who have been verified and have Princeton home library accounts in good standing will have access to circulating materials at any of the participating libraries. When visiting one of these libraries, members of the BorrowDirect Plus community will need to show their campus ID card and log into their home library account to show their current status; once verified, they will be issued a library card.Items, collections and participating libraries on each campus will vary by institution. The lending library’s policies and loan periods apply to guest borrowers, and it is recommended that users considering a visit to one of the libraries view their policies ahead of time http://www.borrowdirect.org/on-site-borrowing.The same library materials are in fact already available through BorrowDirect, the rapid book request and delivery system used by all of the participating institutions. This new agreement expands the system to include this in-person site visit and borrowing component.
