Ordering
Editions
Order Division practice has changed with regard to selector notifications
before ordering editions that meet any of the following criteria:
- Subsequent numbered editions : Order Division will not consult
with selectors before ordering revised or subsequent numbered editions unless the
selector has specified "subsequent edition NOT wanted."
This represents a change from past practice in which Order Division
would return for confirmation all editions not noted "this edition
wanted."
- Translations into English : Order Division will not consult
with selectors before ordering a title that is a translation from a
foreign language into English.
Confirmation will still be requested in the following situations
:
- Translations from one foreign language to another
- Reprints
Should a selector specify "reprint, (or whatever) wanted" the
order will be placed with out further consultation.
