中国文物报 (Zhongguo Wenwubao) User Guide

http://library.princeton.edu/resource/27062 (Works best with Internet Explorer)

  • Wenwubao is hosted on the Apabi 数字报纸库 platform. Currently, it is the only journal on this platform that we subscribe to. Therefore, certain search features may be disregarded, such as the 报纸 and 浏览报纸 tabs on the search screens, as well as the options to search by a specific publication name or city.
  • To browse by issue, click on 浏览报纸 and then click the 中國文物報 image near the bottom left of the page. Or, just click here.
  • In both the simple and advanced search, one may filter the search results by subject. Note that not all of these subject headings correspond to content in the WWB, so some will produce zero results.
  • A Boolean search is available from the advanced search screen. Simply select 专家模式 from the drop-down menu right above the search fields. One can search specific fields with the Boolean search. For example, “FT:奥运会 AND AU:陈” searches for 奥运会 in the fulltext and 陈 in the author field.
  • When viewing search results, you may store a set of articles by clicking the checkboxes to the left of the article titles. On the right-hand side of the screen there is a sidebar titled 篇文章已经被保存 that keeps track of the number of items you have stored. From the sidebar, you can view bibliographic information on articles, as well as print and download articles (the email feature is not currently working). Once you have stored a set of articles, you can also click on the title of the sidebar and choose to print/download specific ones. Articles are downloaded as PDFs, and the selected articles are combined into a single file. Stored articles are lost when you log out of the service.
  • After viewing the full text of an article or the stored articles page, do not use the browser’s back button to return to the search results – you will simply be redirected to the fulltext again. Instead, use the 返回检索结果 link found near the top of the screen.
  • Unfortunately, a similar problem occurs if you try to click the “back” button after clicking a link in the history (我的检索历史) list. You may need to click "back" several times quickly in order to get back to a point where you will not be redirected.
