13.  Tales of the Los Angeles Parks.
Palm Desert, CA: Best West, 1996.

This 15-acre city park with its famous pond (originally constructed in 1892 as a reservoir catch-basin) is just outside downtown Los Angeles near the intersection of Glendale and Sunset Boulevards. The Echo Park district also comprises Carroll Avenue, where some of the city's finest Victorian houses still stand, and Angeleno Heights, where Politi and his family eventually moved. Evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson's Foursquare Gospel Church is also close by.
