This catalogue describes the array of Père Castor activity books that were for sale that year. Faucher's goal was to supply children with a range of art projects that would develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, promote self-expression, and communicate human values through creative play with highly stylized or abstract forms, colored paper, paste, and scissors. The skillful melding of informed pedagogy and outstanding illustrations in the series quickly attracted international acclaim.
