Belvès designed a different kind of coloring book from those of Guertik. Like her,
he prefered figures against a colored background to
schematic black outlines on white. But he introduced
an element of dynamism by using the panorama format. Each pamphlet opens up to a double-page spread (a) then to a four-panel frieze (b) that could be displayed on a wall after it was colored.
