How to use this checklist
Each title in the Lieberman Collection is represented by a separate entry in the following checklist, and, sometimes, by cross (or X) references as well.
The following sample entry

Lieberman 115 |
William Taylor Adam's Always in Luck, written under the pseudonym Oliver Optic, appears in The Argosy, Volume XV, which is bound in the blue illustrated, cloth-covered boards. This volume also contains Horatio Alger's Chester Rand, and an entry for Chester Rand is also to be found in this checklist in its proper alphabetical place within the listing of Alger's novels and stories. The number 115 is the shelf or call number for the volume described, and should be cited as (Lieberman 115) in placing a request to have the book retrieved from the stacks.
Since this checklist is only a guide to the Lieberman Collection and not a detailed bibliographical accounting, entries are brief, and no attempt has been made to conform to principles of formal bibliographic description. Generally, however, standard terms have been used in describing bindings, with the exception of the use of "paperback" and "illus. Paperback" which have been employed consistently in preference to the terms "wrapper" and "illus. wrapper."
