Microforms Service

Microforms Collections

Princeton University Library holds a microfilm and microfiche collection of interest to researchers in the humanities and social sciences. It consists of newspapers, monographs, manuscripts, government publications, and other materials both current and historical, in many languages.

Microform materials reside at ReCAP, our off-site storage facility, and therefore must be requested through the catalog.

Microforms Service

We are happy to help you use the microforms equipment, find materials, and retrieve interlibrary loan, ReCAP, and Annex materials during service hours.

Machines are available for reading, printing, or scanning materials in the collection. There is no charge for self-service reproduction of materials. See the Princeton University Copyright page on Making Copyright Decisions for limitations on publishing with scans that are self-produced.

Additional microform readers/scanners are located at:

  • East Asian Library
  • Marquand Library
  • Mendel Music Library
  • Mudd Manuscript Library
  • Stokes Library
