Steve Knowlton elected to ALA’s Library History Round Table
Princeton University Library’s (PUL) Librarian for History and African American Studies Steve Knowlton was elected Chair-elect/Vice-chair of the American Libraries Association’s (ALA) Library History Round Table (LHRT). The role, which began on July 1, is a three-year voting position on the LHRT executive board.

Romus Broadway photo collages to be on display in Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood
Princeton University Library (PUL) and the Arts Council of Princeton are planning a public exhibition celebrating the history of Princeton’s Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood. Drawing from PUL’s Romus Broadway photography collection, the exhibition, curated by Jennifer Garcon, PUL’s Librarian for Modern and Contemporary Special Collections, will see photographic collage banners that document Witherspoon-Jackson’s history adorn the neighborhood from August 10 through May 2023.

Community Archivists Support 1950 US Census Indexing Efforts
Princeton University Library recently hosted two events recently to participate in a community project organized by the 1950 US Census Community Project (a joint initiative between FamilySearch and Ancestry, and other leading genealogy societies and organizations) that coordinates efforts to make the digitized 1950 US Census available for searching digitally as quickly as possible.

Mudd Library showcases history of Princeton through “Princeton 275” exhibition
The “Princeton 275” exhibition explores and reflects on all of these aspects and more from the University’s history. Currently on display at Mudd Manuscript Library and open to the university community and members of the public, the exhibition features pieces dating back to the 1746 Charter of the College of New Jersey.

Meet Tyler Wade, new Cataloging and Metadata Services Fellow at Princeton University Library
