Additional temporary access to various databases from Taiwan and Mainland China

Princeton, April 17:

A number of different database providers from mainland China and Taiwan have opened up their databases for Princeton users.

Please find below information about these additional e-resources that are available from today:

All the databases work on the university network. If you are off campus, please first connect via Secure Remote Access (SRA/VPN) before opening the links.

Please note that many of the library databases will only work with the SonicWall VPN and not with the new Global Protect VPN at the moment.

 

iRead eBooks 華藝中文電子書  (e-books from Taiwan)

Reading access to about 2,000 academic e-books from Taiwan mostly published in the last 5 years. Online reading mode, printing of single pages. Online lending requires personal account and additional software. Pop-ups need to be allowed.

Academic Image 学术图片库

Image database with almost 3 million images focusing on history, literature, Philosophy, and Economics. Includes for example 13,000+ images for Dunhuang, relatively slow, no US server.
