Back by popular demand: the Tiger Tea Room at Firestone Library! On September 9, Princeton University Library (PUL) and Campus Dining opened the doors to a new campus venue, the Tiger Tea Room. Located on Firestone's first floor, the venue, which serves coffee, tea, and assorted bakery items, will also present a new and unique service: afternoon tea.

Open Mondays through Fridays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Tea Room serves Peet’s coffee and espresso beverages, Mighty Leaf hot and iced teas, hot chocolate, and pastries including croissants, scones, muffins, bagels, cookies, brownies, and biscuits and jam. Payments accepted include student charge (such as Tiger card), debit, and credit cards.

In 2017, before the Firestone Library renovation was completed, PUL and Campus Dining piloted the Tea Room in Firestone’s first floor north area (then known as the DeLong Room) to high acclaim from students, faculty, and staff. Feedback gathered from the pilot project was instrumental in developing the permanent Tea Room.

Afternoon tea service will be available for Princeton University students, faculty, and staff on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m., beginning September 17, with seatings on the hour. University members may invite a guest to their reservation, including those unaffiliated with the University, and the service price will be 15 dollars per person.

Available by reservation only, the afternoon tea service will offer patrons an opportunity to enjoy a personal pot of tea along with a tiered tray of tea sandwiches (egg and cucumber), fruit tarts, butter cookies, and scones, all accompanied by jam and clotted cream. But coffee aficionados, fear not. At afternoon tea, personal French presses will also be available in place of tea.
