Featured E-Resource: The HistoryMakers, oral history database of African American leaders

Princeton University Library is pleased to provide faculty, students, and staff access to The HistoryMakers, a database of oral history interviews with more than 2,600 historically significant African Americans in fields such as the arts, business, education, entertainment, the law, the military, politics, religion, and science. This primary source collection provides access to the testimonies of leaders such as civil rights leader John Lewis, actress Whoopie Goldberg, and mathematician Katherine Johnson of "Hidden Figures." Interviews are provided through video with transcripts available. 

The HistoryMakers is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational institution committed to preserving and making widely accessible the untold personal stories of both well-known and unsung African Americans. Since 1999, The HistoryMakers has been recording African American oral histories to refashion a more inclusive record of American history and to educate and enlighten millions worldwide.
