PUL and CITP host virtual reality panel

On Wednesday, September 21, Princeton University Library (PUL) hosted the “Privacy and Autonomy in the Metaverse” panel. Co-sponsored by the Center for Information Technology Policy (CITP) and hosted in the Engineering Library’s Visualization Lab, the panel featured members of Princeton’s academic communities weighing the utopian promises of virtual reality technology against concerns about privacy and other abuses.

The panel was developed by Ameet Doshi, Head of Donald E. Stokes Library, and Ariel Ackerly, PUL Makerspace Specialist. Doshi moderated the panel, which included Payton Croskey, Princeton Class of 2023 and member of the Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab, Jennifer Grayburn, Assistant Director of Digital & Open Scholarship, and Mihir Kshirsagar, Clinic Lead at CITP.
