This morning, we revived our monthly Tech Services linked data reading group. The reading for this month was the BIBFLOW Roadmap, which inspired passionate opinions about authority control in a linked data environment, and other interesting topics.

We have begun actively exploring a local installation of the (preliminary) LC BIBFRAME Editor (BFE). Along with colleagues at Stanford and Columbia, we will be submitting feedback for its further development. The two other editors we are testing in parallel are vitrolib and CEDAR.

In the absence of production-ready RDF cataloging tools, a team of catalogers will be creating original MARC records for the Derrida titles that did not already have records in Voyager or OCLC. These, along with the MARC records already on hand, will then be converted to BIBFRAME using LC's marc2bibframe2.
