Princeton University students, faculty, and staff now have access to free premium accounts of an open access repository of step-by-step, detailed protocols and methods for researchers across multiple disciplines, particularly those in the sciences and engineering.

Teaching with collections: ‘America Then and Now’
This fall semester, Princeton undergraduates in the team-taught course “America Then and Now” explored the shaping of America through a range of experiences in and outside the classroom. In mid-November, the nearly 100 students in the course visited Princeton University Library’s Special Collections to gain hands-on experience in archival research.

PUL builds special collection of early editions of Frederick Douglass autobiographies
Douglass, an enslaved citizen from Maryland who escaped slavery and later became a leading voice in the anti-slavery movement, wrote three autobiographies in his lifetime: “Narrative of the Live of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave (first published in 1845),” “My Bondage and My Freedom (1855),” and “Life and Times of Frederick Douglass (1881).” PUL’s goal, according to history and African American studies librarian Steve Knowlton, is to eventually own copies of each of the early editions produced in Douglass’s lifetime.

PUL's exhibition, 'Piranesi on the Page,' reveals the art of the architect's books
"Piranesi on the Page" tells the story of how Giovanni Battista Piranesi, the foremost printmaker in 18th-century Europe, made the book the center of his artistic production. The exhibition runs from Oct. 8 to Dec. 5, 2021.
