    The Gillett G. Griffin Memorial Lecture Series

    The Gillett G. Griffin Memorial Lecture Series is being established in honor of our former colleague Gillett Good Griffin (1928-2016), who served as graphic arts curator within Special Collections from 1952 to 1966. The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Dr. Sara Stevenson, former chief curator at the National Galleries of Scotland. This event will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 3:00 in the Friends Center Convocation Room, followed by a reception. The event is free and open to the public.

    Firestone Library Renovation: C Floor Update

    Effective Wednesday March 15, the area on C floor that has been under construction for the past nine months will be open to patrons.  Please be aware that there will be a lot of activity with staff cleaning and moving books into the area.  This work may be noisy at times.     Library Open House for Freshmen and their Families October 14th & 15th

    All first year students and their families are welcome to join us in Firestone Library, on Friday and Saturday, October 14th and 15th for cider and donuts, tours of the library, and a chance to chat with librarians, staff and current students. The Open House will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on both days.

    New "Papercut" Print Management System!

    All library printers are now managed by the "Papercut" print accounting system. This system helps reduce the amount of paper wasted with accidental printing. When a document is printed to a Papercut-managed queue, the document will not print until it is released at any of the PRINT RELEASE STATIONS in the library.   • New Library Catalog Released using Project Blacklight Software

    New Library Catalog Launched

    Initially released as a beta service in the spring of 2016, this new catalog is the result of a two year effort to improve and eventually replace our twenty-year-old Main Catalog and incorporate the best features of contemporary library search technology. The catalog is available at and is also directly available from the main search box on under the heading “New Catalog”.
