elcome to the Princeton University Library Papyrus Home Page. The Library's collections of papyri are chiefly housed in the Manuscripts Division, Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, in the Harvey S. Firestone Memorial Library. Additional papyri are in the Scheide Library and the Cotsen Children's Library. This website was originally created in the 1990s when the Library was a member of the APIS Consortium and received generous grant funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Descriptions and images previously found online in the APIS database are now in Papyri.info The Princeton University Library Papyrus Home Page originally provided online access to (1) Descriptive Inventory of the Princeton Collections of Papyri, offering up-to-date descriptions for more than a thousand papyri; and (2) Digital Images of Selected Princeton Papyri, a group of 28 digitized papyri.

In January 2016, the Descriptive Inventory was updated to include links to more than 250 digitized papyri in the Princeton University Digital Library (PUDL). Additional digitized papyri will be added in the future.
