The Architecture Library collects materials on all aspects of architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies, urban planning and design, history, theory, design, preservation, and professional practice, with a chronological focus on the twentieth century to the present. Collection items are primarily focused on architectural design and history, with other areas of emphasis including urban studies, vernacular architecture, landscape design, architectural engineering, and material science. The library is staffed by dedicated library professionals with expertise in the subjects and collections housed in the library and in the services provided by the library. The offices of the Architecture Librarian and other staff are located inside of the library, where these staff members provide all levels of reference, technical assistance, and research support. Collections The Architecture Library collection includes approximately 30,000 volumes on-site with over one-hundred thousand architecture-related volumes housed offsite in the ReCAP storage facility. The library subscribes to more than 300 domestic and international periodicals in print format, and hundreds more architecture-related periodicals in digital format as well as numerous relevant databases. The Architecture Library collections are fully circulating, with a print reference collection of key disciplinary texts housed onsite and extensive electronic reference sources online. Course Reserves The Architecture Library manages all course reserve materials for the School of Architecture and cross-listed courses. Faculty can submit their syllabi directly to the Architecture Library or via the SoA.
