Mendel Music Library supports Princeton’s vibrant music and performing arts community, providing resources to the Department of Music, the programs in dance, music theater, and theater at the Lewis Center for the Arts, and the participants in the many performance ensembles across campus. Mendel’s collections include books, performance scores, sound and video recordings, streaming audio and video databases, periodicals, and an outstanding selection of rare books and scores available for in-house use.

Mendel Group Study Room

Located on the second floor, the Mendel Music Library offers one group study room for Princeton students, faculty, and staff.

Mendel Study Carrels

Priority is given to current graduate music students and faculty. Undergraduate senior music majors are assigned carrels on availability. 

Mendel Multimedia Room

The Mendel Multimedia Room is equipped with 4 iMacs, Video viewing station, Nostalgia station (with LP and cassette playback), the Microfilm reader/scanner, lots of study space, and plenty of plugs to charge your laptop or phones.

Instruction Sessions

Lisa will collaborate with teaching faculty to lead customized workshops, helping students to effectively find and use library and information resources for research, performance, and other projects in music and the performing arts.

Course Reserves

Mendel Music Library manages all course reserves materials for the Music, Theater, Dance, & Music Theater Departments. Mendel also handles audio reserves and offers digitization of various audio media formats for course reserves. Faculty can send syllabi or requests for audio digitization to [email protected]
