EDITIONS FOR THE ARMED SERVICES

  • The Library has a special collection of about half of the 1324 books issued for the American armed forces overseas during World War II. A list of holdings is available; it is a Xerox of the alphabetical listing in John Alden Jamieson's Editions for the Armed Services, Inc.: A History, Together with the Complete List of 1324 Books Published ... (New York, 1948). [(Exov) Z1039.S6 E27 cop. 1]. The 440 volume collection is housed in about 10 archival boxes and shelved under the call number (Ex) PN861 .E34.  Folio. The checklist for the collection has the call number [(Exov) Z1039.S6 E27 cop. 2 and is also available as a PDF]
