Rare Books
In the 1930's, the Library announced a steadily growing collection of Victorian poets. See Biblia VI, 2 (June, 1935) p. [16] [full text] and IX, 1 (February, 1938) p. [4] [full text] . The collection included first editions of both outstanding and minor poets of the period including Tennyson, Browning, Rossetti (q.v.), Swinburne, Landor, and others. During the remaining years of the 20th century the collection grew regularly. A major increase was the the accession of the Rossetti collection from Janet Troxell (for which see separate entry in this 'Guide to Topics'.) See also Verna E. Bayles, "A Sampling of Victorian Poets at Princeton" in the Princeton University Library Chronicle VI, 3 (April, 1945) pp. 127-132 [full text] .
