The Architecture Library supports the research and teaching needs of the School of Architecture and is part of the larger Princeton University Library system. Our holdings specialize in modern and contemporary architecture and design, the history and theory of architecture, urban studies, landscape architecture, preservation, and city planning. 

The East Asian Library collects materials in practically all subjects in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, as well as works on Chinese, Japanese and Korean linguistics and literature in Western languages. It is a working collection that supports all kinds of research done in the Department and Program of East Asian Studies.

The Engineering Library is located in Fine Hall and supports the research and education mission of the School of Engineering and Applied Science and its affiliated programs and centers. The library supports teaching and research in all engineering disciplines, including energy and environment and computer science.

The Harvey S. Firestone Memorial Library serves as the main library on campus and assumes primary responsibility for humanities and social sciences collections and specialized research support services. It also houses many of the libraries centralized operations, Special Collections rare books and manuscripts department, and other services including the Data and Statistical Services Lab, Cotsen Children’s Library, and the Center for Digital Humanities. 

The Lewis Science Library was made possible through a generous gift by Peter B. Lewis, Princeton Class of 1955 and University trustee, and was designed by internationally acclaimed architect Frank Gehry. This bold facility, in the heart of Princeton University’s “science neighborhood,” provides soaring, colorful spaces where researchers can interact and share ideas. 

Marquand is one of the oldest and most extensive art libraries in America. The collection of over 500,000 volumes covers world art and architecture from antiquity to the present and includes distinguished rare book holdings. Marquand serves the Princeton University community and scholars from around the world.

Mendel Music Library is Princeton University’s performing arts library. It supports the research and teaching needs of the students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Music and all Programs in Theater, Dance, and Musical Theater. Mendel Library also supports all students, faculty, and staff participating in various performance ensembles, instrumental lessons, and Theater and Musical Theater productions.

The Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library, a division of the Department of Special Collections, is a state-of-the-art repository constructed in 1976 to house the Princeton University Archives and a highly regarded collection of 20th-century public policy papers.

The Department of Special Collections is one of the premier repositories of its kind. Its holdings span five millennia and five continents, and include around 400,000 rare or significant printed works; 30,000 linear feet of textual materials, ranging from cuneiform tablets to contemporary manuscripts; a wealth of prints, drawings, photographs, maps, coins, and other visual materials; the Cotsen Children's Library; and the Princeton University Archives. 

Located on the lower level of Wallace Hall, the Stokes Library is the primary point-of-contact for Library Services for the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs Reserves and the Office of Population Research (OPR). The Library houses the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs Reserves, the Ansley J. Coale Population Research Collection, and the Stokes Viz Hub.
